Rescued 38 migrants from capsized vessel in one week.
The Coast Guard has called off the search for survivors from a capsized migrant vessel. The boat was spotted on Thursday carrying an undetermined amount of people, far above its capacity. The Coast Guard was able to rescue 38 people, many of which were Haitian migrants making a dangerous journey to America. Eight remain hospitalized from being out at sea for so long in an unseaworthy vessel.
“Our most heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of those who did not survive or remain missing, our prayers are with them,” Captain Gregory Magee, Commander of Coast Guard Sector San Juan, stated.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For healing for the migrant survivors of the accident.
- For Coast Guard crews and personnel as they patrol the water to ensure human safety.
- For U.S. officials as they consider political instability in Haiti.
